MAIK/NAUKA commended by this award the series of papers "Hard X-Ray Survey of Central Areas of the Galaxy by the Orbital Observatory INTEGRAL: The Discovery of New Accretive Neutron Stars and Black Holes" by R.A.Sunyaev, D.A.Varshalovich, S.A.Grebenev, V.V.Zheleznyakov, A.A.Lutovinov, S.V.Molkov, M.G.Revnivtsev, S.Yu.Sazonov, A.M.Cherepashchuk, and E.M.Churazov (Astronomy Letters, 2006, v.32, pp.145-148; 2004, v.30, pp.382-389 and 540-548).

Annual competitions for the best publication are held by MAIK/NAUKA since 1995 and involve more than 100 scientific journals. There are 50 awards in different fields (each amounting 1000 USD) and 4 Grand Awards (amounting 12500 USD).
